1984

A new British stage adaption of George Orwell’s classic dystopia. Translated to Swedish by Stefan Lindberg and directed as a touring play for Swedish National Theater by Sara Giese. Playing 2015-2016. The set design by Johanna Mårtensson consists of a big white tunnel which can be taken apart and deformed during play. The back wall is a back projection screen which pictures the all-seeing Telescreen and its transmissions, and an additional big front projector is used to paint the whole construction with abstract environments to momentarily break up the claustrophobia. There is also a hidden back room which serves as a TV studio for live camera footage projected on the back wall. The show had about 300 video and audio cues.
