A new British stage adaption of George Orwell’s classic dystopia. Translated to Swedish by Stefan Lindberg and directed as a touring play for Swedish National Theater by Sara Giese. Playing 2015-2016. The set design by Johanna Mårtensson consists of a big white tunnel which can be taken apart and deformed during play. The back wall is a back projection screen which pictures the all-seeing Telescreen and its transmissions, and an additional big front projector is used to paint the whole construction with abstract environments to momentarily break up the claustrophobia. There is also a hidden back room which serves as a TV studio for live camera footage projected on the back wall. The show had about 300 video and audio cues. Animation, illustration, edit and live action direction by David Giese. This is a medley of some of the video material used in the performance.
